Lime Cay is a low-lying island cay fifteen minutes off the coast of Jamaica. It is the largest of many small cays off of Port Royal. However, it is uninhabitable because the island is sometimes submerged when the tide rises. Interestingly, Lime Cay has been the root of multiple scams in which the cay is “sold” to gullible buyers as a location for a resort. But Lime Cay is a part of Jamaica, and the beaches there are public. Sometimes 18th or 19th century treasure can be found there!
